I’m Bella Archer, the voice behind Buckle Up, Boo! – the blog, the zine, and the glorious mess in between.

This little corner of the internet started as a travel blog – back when I realised travelling with a toddler is very different to being footloose and fancy-free. These days, it’s fewer Michelin stars and nightclubs, more mac and cheese in the campervan and bedtime by 7:30pm.

Watching my daughter snore is adorable for about two minutes... then my overactive brain needs something to do that won’t wake the baby. So I started writing.

We’re the Boo Crew: one surprise-loving mama (hi, I’m Bella 👋) who enjoys jumping out and yelling “boo!” at my nerdy husband-to-be, RaRa, and our tiny boss, Lark – a two-nager with red curls and very big opinions.

Truth be told, I want it all. A career, baby number two, a hundred side projects, travel, a house in the countryside with a glass roof so I can trace patterns in the stars, an orchard, start a not-for-profit that helps people, and one day, a book.

Wanting it all naturally comes with a shed-load of chaos. I often have to remind myself of Michelle Obama’s mum’s wise words: you can have it all, just not all at the same time.

But that doesn’t stop me trying. And let’s be honest – it gets messy fast when you throw a toddler into the mix.

I love turning ordinary moments into stories that make you laugh, nod, or feel a little less alone. Buckle Up, Boo! is where I get to do that — to celebrate the absurd, the heartfelt, and the deeply human parts of modern Aussie life.

Think of this space as your quick escape from whatever season you’re in – parenthood, partnership, career, or just figuring it all out. Somewhere to feel that spark again.
